How to find a good  wedding photographer

It is very important to find the right professional to record the great day . A good starting point is to look for one who is a qualified member of a reputable photographic organisation , such as the British Institute of Professional photographers, The Royal Photographic Society or the Master Photographers Association , do be a little careful as some organisations may sound very grand, but in reality are only clubs which you simply pay a fee to belong. When visiting a studio a good photographer will always be happy to show you plenty of examples of their work, make sure you take a look at complete sets of images of a wedding and not just odd shots from different weddings, if possible ask to view images from the venue where you are holding your wedding. This is should give you plenty of ideas as to what is possible. Due to the change over to digital imaging in the last couple of years there have been many newcomers into the industry, many of whom have just picked up a camera and had no training or experience, these often ill prepared for the unexpected or even go out and photograph a complete wedding on a single camera!

Do insure that you meet the actual photographer who would be taking the photographs of your day, is he or she the person you can get on with and do they give you confidence are they enthusiastic about your wedding ?

An experienced pro will be able to give lots of advise or suggestions about how to make your day run smoothly, about timings, colours, how to cope with the weather  or etiquette. The cost of employing a good  Professional will be  well worth it in the long run. After all the other expenses it’s the wedding photographs that are the reminder of just what a great time you had on your wedding day!
